Lauren connects with her students by catering her teaching style and approach to each student’s needs.  A strong teacher-student relationship ensures that learning music is an enjoyable, fulfilling, and lasting experience. Lauren’s wide-ranging performance experience allows her to teach any style, ranging from classical to jazz and latin to rock.  She emphasizes fluid technique, precise rhythm, artistic expression, and most importantly, a beautiful sound. Students of Lauren Sperry consistently achieve superior ratings at WSMA Solo and Ensemble, are selected to MYSO, UWAY,  Wisconsin State Honors Band and Orchestra programs, and The National Youth Orchestra of the United States, pursue college music degrees or simply have a great time learning how to play an instrument.

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Music in Multiple-Woodwind Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  Her primary teachers include: Curt Hanrahan, Steve Nelson-Raney, Jeani Foster, William Helmers, Bonnie Cohen, and Katja Phillabaum.

Currently, Lauren is Adjunct Faculty-Saxophone at Concordia University and Adjunct Faculty-Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet and Oboe at Lakeland University.  She offers private lessons at Be Sound Music Studio, and her home studio in Cedarburg.  Lauren also teaches woodwind ensemble classes at the Milwaukee Jewish Day School.
